After School Care Programs
START Program
SCUSD, in partnership with Sacramento City Parks and Recreation, offers the START program, a free after school program for students in grades 1st-6th. If you are interested in enrollment, please call the site director between the hours of 2 pm and 6 pm at 916-826-7803. Students must register and be accepted to participate in the program. Spaces are limited.
The Children's Center
This fee-based program is located on our campus for Kindergarten-6th grade students and provides before and after school care. Please call the Child Development Department for more information at 643-7814. You may also call our program at Judah at 277-6562. Spaces are limited.
Off - Site Daycare
Many of our families independently contract with the the YMCA for before and after school care. The YMCA has a van that drops off and picks up students from Theodore Judah before and after school. (Theodore Judah and Sacramento City Unified School District do not contract with the YMCA for services.)

TJ Times: Your Student Run Newspaper
Are you interested in being a writer, photographer or editor? The TJ Times meets weekly on campus and writes hard-hitting stories, such as Big Spoon vs Heavenly's Yogurt!
Email Tad Carrillo for more information RoboticsThe "Bear Bots" meet weekly after school and compete in the First LEGO League Challenge annually. They represented us well in last year, placing 2nd in the competition. This year they were awarded a grant from the Bill Gates Foundation.
Green TeamGreen Team was started to give students at our school a leadership role in the green makeover. As Green Team members students can share their ideas for improving our school. First through Sixth graders get a chance to present a green project at the beginning of the year and if their project passes the requirements then they get to join the green team.

Nature BowlThis after school club, sponsored by the California Department of Fish and Game, is an environmental education competition. Teams of 3rd through 6th grade students study science, ecology, and environmental issues for an all-day semi-finals event.
After School Enrichment ClassesThe Theodore Judah PTA coordinates a number of after school classes- including STEM, Art, Knitting, Drama, Writing, Math, Running programs and much more.

Drama ProgramTheodore Judah's Community Theater hosts Sacramento Theater Company's (STC) Team to provide a student production January through April, with a community performance in early May. This year they will perform "School House Rock" on May 8 and 9.
Auditions are January 21 & 22 and are open to 1-6 grade. Kinders will receive 6 weeks of signing practice with STC during the school day, 30 minutes a week. Kindergartners will have the option of performing the opening and closing numbers during the plays run in May. Once the ALL student cast is selected, they will begin rehearsals after school 2-3 days a week until right before the performance, then it will ramp up to 4 days a week for some cast members.
